Enhance internal alignment and understanding with updated framework language
We’ve made updates to the Destination Wayfinder framework to ensure the responsibilities and functions of destination organizations are more accurately represented. Version 1.6 of the Destination Wayfinder framework and assessment now includes:
- Module 8, “Identification & Preservation of Arts, Culture & Heritage” has been formally updated to include the importance of the “Arts” in both the module title and description. Language updates to represent the arts were also made to the following elements:
- PR01 Cultural Heritage Focus
- PR06 Authentic Storytelling
- PR07 Fostering Cultural Events & Experiences
- Element descriptors for measurement have been updated to reflect the importance of collective impact measurement for destination organizations. These updates can be found under the following elements:
- EP08 Economic Impact Measurement
- EN10 Environmental Impact Measurement
- PR09 Cultural Impact Measurement
- SW08 Social Impact Measurement
- General syntax and style edits to improve the clarity of framework descriptions and ratings.
Note, these changes do not impact the evidence-based rating scales for each of the element questions and do not affect your current rating. These language updates are designed to provide more accurate and relevant contextual information for the user. If you are a Destination Wayfinder client, no action is required.
